Rosana Poggio is a cardiologist and epidemiologist with more than 15 years of experience in public health research, focusing on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and nutrition-related conditions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Her work applies principles of implementation science to improve the translation of evidence into practice in complex health systems. She has led several feasibility studies and cluster-randomized trials to strengthen primary care responses to cardiovascular risk in Argentina. Her nutrition research includes a doctoral degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where her dissertation examined dietary patterns and their association with cardiovascular risk. She also led a systematic review and meta-analysis on sodium intake and cardiovascular mortality, contributing to global dietary policy in LMICs. She has collaborated closely with Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian on epidemiological models estimating the population impact of reducing industrial trans-fat consumption in Argentina, reinforcing her expertise at the intersection of nutrition, cardiovascular health, and implementation research.
